Within a month, Cidas Almas Chapel burgled for second time

MARGAO: Within a month, Cidas Almas Chapel located at the Old Market, near the Holy Spirit Church, here, was burgled for the second time, on Wednesday night. However, Fatorda Police were quick enough to apprehend one culprit in connection with the theft.

According to the Fatorda Police, it was reported that an unknown person broke open the door of the chapel and robbed cash from the donation box.

Accordingly, the police visited the place and verified the fact and found out that lock of the main door is broken by the culprit to make an entry and further broken the lock of a donation box and decamped with cash and coins amounting to around Rs 2,000. The police immediately detained one Amjad Khan (38), native of Maharashtra. During the interrogation, the accused person confessed to the crime and seized cash Rs 1,423 from his possession. 

He also confessed of previous theft. Further investigation is in progress.
