MAPUSA: An elderly woman was crushed to death under the wall of her house which gave way after a huge tree came crashing on it at Betim on Friday night. The incident occurred late in the night when 62-year-old Milan Patil was sleeping in the house. Due to gusty winds a tree in the vicinity of the house fell on the house and the wall collapsed on the woman resulting in her death.
However, the police were informed about the incident at 8.30 am on Saturday after which they rushed to the spot. The Porvorim police conducted panchanama and later sent the body to Goa Medical College at Bambolim. After conducting post mortem, the body was been handed over to the family for final rites. The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
