PONDA: Kirthi Swami, a 27-year-old woman from Tisk-Usgao died after she delivered a child at Ponda Sub District Hospital.
According to Ponda police, after delivery of the child, mother’s condition worsened and was shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. However, she was declared brought dead. Police have registered an unnatural death case.
However, there was rumour spread in her village that she died due to lack of oxygen on her way to GMC.
Since the death occurred within one year of marriage, the police have handed the case to the Deputy Collector. The father of deceased in a statement to Deputy Collector stated that he has neither complained against any person nor suspect foul play. The incident took place on Thursday night.
