Woman found dead in well

A 60-year-old woman from Maimollem-Vasco was found dead in a well in her neighbourhood at Maimollem on Monday afternoon.
Vasco Police has identified the deceased as Vanita V Kamat, a former employee of Goa Sahakar Bhandar, Vasco.
It is learnt from the local people that she fell in the well at about 2.30 pm, while locals noticed it at about 5 pm and informed Vasco Police and Vasco Fire Brigade. Vasco Fire Brigade fished out the body and handed it over to Vasco Police.
Incidentally, Goa Sahakar Bhandar employees, who were conducting the annual ritual of Lord Shree Satyanarayan at Vasco, were shocked on hearing the news. A number of workers of the Sahakar Bhandar left the celebrations midway and rushed to Kamat’s house.
Kamat is survived by two married daughters and she was residing with her granddaughter at her residence at Maimollem.
Vasco Police have registered a case of unnatural death  and is investigating the case.
