CANACONA: A 58-year-old woman was killed in an accident reported at Mashem on Monday.
According to sources, Opel Barretto, a resident of Mashem, who was crossing the road at Mashem, was hit by a vehicle proceeding towards Canacona at around 8 pm. The impact was such that she sustained severe head injuries and was taken in 108 ambulance to Canacona CHC CHC sources said that she breathed her last when the doctors were attending to her.
Police said the body will be shifted to Hospicio, Margao for post-mortem.
