VALPOI: Jayanti Anand Gaonkar, a 42-year old woman from Kankire village in Sattari, died on the spot when a bison attacked in her cashew plantation on Wednesday morning at around 10.30 am.
According to villagers, Jayanti Gaonkar and Gomati Gawde had gone to plant the cashew trees in their cashew plantation, when a bison suddenly attacked Janyanti Gaonkar. Due to the sudden nature of the attack Janyanti could not escape from the bison.
According to the villagers, Jayanti is survived by three school going minor children, while her husband passed away few years ago.
The Valpoi Police conducted a panchnama of the scene of attack and the body of Janyanti has been sent for an autopsy at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
