Woman knocked down by train at Dabolim

An unidentified woman was killed, after she was knocked down by a train near Alto Dabolim Railway Bridge, Vasco, on Tuesday afternoon.
Vasco Railway Police suspect the woman might have committed suicide, as the area is rarely used by pedestrians to cross and people are hardly seen walking along the track where the mishap took place.
Police informed that the deceased, who is suspected to be in her thirties, was wearing yellow-coloured saree, wheatish in complexion and medium built. The body has been preserved at Hospicio in Margao for identification.
Incidentally, this is the third death in train accidents in less than one month on the stretch of barely one-kilometre rail track from Airport Railway overhead bridge to Alto-Dabolim Railway Bridge.
It may be recalled that about a month ago, a 40-year-old woman was killed, after she was knocked down by a train near Airport Railway Bridge, Chicalim. Fifteen days later, a man in his thirties was killed, when he was dashed by a goods train barely 100 mtrs from the earlier spot.
