PORVORIM: Public Works department (PWD) Minister Sudin Dhavalikar told state assembly that the construction work of new Zuari bridge will start from coming October and the one year extension will be give to the third bridge over river Mandovi.
Speaking on the floor of the ongoing assembly session minister Dhavalikar said that after proof consultant report the exact figures will be informed. He said the contractor has been given 30 months time to complete the work.
However, he said that there could be slight delay owing to different issues which includes the court matters.
“I am not the one who will sit at home once the tender of work has been issued, I will see that the work is completed within the time frame,” Minister said.
To strengthen and improve the road network in the state, the minister said that centre has already in principal approved the funds of Rs 2500 crore. He said that four major bypass in the state will be completed on priority.
Reacting on the allegations made by some of the MLAs for the faulty road construction in some of the divisions and constructing same roads within year, he said that strict action will be taken on the engineers if anyone found lacking in his duties. He has appealed the MLAs to point out specific cases where the illegalities have taken place.
