Youth held for molesting Brit at Arambol

A 27-year-old Briton was allegedly molested by a youth from Sawantwadi-Maharashtra at the Arambol beach on Friday evening, as attacks on foreign tourists have continued to tarnish the image of the State.
The youth was nabbed by a lifeguard and was later arrested by Pernem police.
According to reports, the incident took place at about 4.30 pm while the woman was swimming in the Arambol beach.
In her complaint at the Arambol police outpost, the woman claimed that the accused, identified as Ravindra A Gawde (30), was also swimming in the vicinity, when he went towards her and molested her.
She alerted a nearby lifeguard, who caught the accused and handed him over to the Pernem police.
The accused has been arrested under Section 354 of IPC and further investigations are in progress.
