MAPUSA: Mapusa police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old Hazart alias Irfan Mulla, for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl.
Police sources informed that the accused raped the minor girl and later forced her to consume a pill to prevent pregnancy. The incident took place three days back. When the victim’s mother came to know about the incident she lodged a complaint against the alleged accused at the Mapusa Police Station.
According to police, the accused entered into the house of the victim when she was alone and sexually assaulted her and further threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed about the incident to anyone.
Police have registered an offence under Sections 452, 342, 376(3), 506(i) and 328 of the IPC, Section 8 (2) of Goa Children Act and Section 4, 6, 8 of the POCSO Act against the accused.
