Goa Olympic Association Announces 16-Member Squad for Road Cycling Nationals 2025

PANJIM: The Goa Olympic Association (GOA) has announced the names of 16 cyclists who will represent the State at the forthcoming Road Cycling National Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in November.
The selection trials, authorised by the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), were conducted under the supervision of Dr Dharmender Lamba, technical official deputed by the CFI, along with GOA coordinators Joel Fernandes, Sandeep Heble, Agnel D’Sa and other volunteers, along the Dona Paula-Bambolim route with the starting and finishing point at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao Plateau.
In the men’s elite category, Derwyn Viegas topped the selection trials, followed by Fredsan Marshall, Shravan Jog, Vincent Godai, Navin Naik, and Harsh Bhonsle.
In the men’s U-23 category, Atharv Sawant emerged as the leader, with Prem Shetgaonkar, Yash Kushwah and Mark Fernandes following closely. Among the younger cyclists, Ashwel Fernandes and Deep Raikar qualified in the Junior Boys (U-19) category, Shripad Lotliker in Sub Junior Boys (U-16), Angie Fernandes and Kiara Araujo in Girls Sub Junior (U-16) and Aarya Fernandes in Girls Youth (U-14).
