VASCO: The 44th Bandodkar Memorial football tournament, organised by Baina Sports Club gets underway at MPT ground, Baina, on July 20.
The tournament started since 1973 , after the death of late DB Bandodkar, the 1st Chief Minister of Goa, and the same was held without any break ever since. This tournament attracts a sizable crowd even in the heavy downpour.
The tournament is a nursery for young and upcoming players / footballers .
The Inaugural match will be played between Clube Desportive Dos Jovens Do Ribandar and Velsao Sports and Cultural Club, Salcete, at 4.30 p.m.
Deepak Naik , chairperson of Mormugao Municipal Council will be the chief guest for the inaugural function while FC Goa keeper Laxmikanth Kattimani will be the guest of honour.
