The AFC U-16 qualifiers will have a total of 45 teams for the qualifying competition. The West Zone will comprise 24 teams and they will be drawn according to their ranking to make four groups of six teams each
The draws for the AFC U-16 Championship 2010 (qualifiers) and the AFC U-19 Championship 2010 (qualifiers) will take place on February 20, at the AFC House. India is placed in West Zone for both the groups.
AFC U-16 qualifiers will have a total of 45 teams for the qualifying competition. The West Zone will comprise 24 teams and they will be drawn according to their ranking to make four groups of six teams each.
Meanwhile, the East Zone will have 21 teams and they will be drawn into three groups of six teams and one group of three teams. The group with three teams will pay a two-round league system.
For all the groups with six teams, the winner and runners-up of each group will qualify for the AFC U-16 Championship 2010 (finals). For the one group with three teams, only the group winner will qualify. And the one best third-placed team from all the groups with six teams will qualify for the AFC U-16 Championship 2010 (finals).
The AFC U-19 qualifiers will witness a total of 42 teams coming out of the pots. The West Zone will have 24 teams, while the East Zone will comprise 18 teams.
There will be four groups of six teams each in the West Zone and the East will comprise three groups of six teams each.
The winner and runners-up of each group qualify for the AFC U-19 Championship 2010 (finals). One best third-placed team from the West Zone and one best third-placed team from the East will also qualify for the finals.
