Agasaim pip St Sebastian

MAPUSA, FEB 9 Francis "Pocket" Silveira scored the winning goal from the penalty spot as Agasaim Youth Club edged out 10-men St Sebastian Sports Club, Santa Cruz in GFA's Second Division at Dr Remigio Pinto ground, Taleigao on Wednesday. Agasaim led by a solitary goal at the breather.

Francis “Pocket” Silveira scored the winning goal from the penalty spot as Agasaim Youth Club edged out 10-men St Sebastian Sports Club, Santa Cruz in GFA’s Second Division at Dr Remigio Pinto ground, Taleigao on Wednesday. Agasaim led by a solitary goal at the breather.
St Sebastian captain McDavid Dias was shown the yellow card for “dissent with action” towards referee Anthony Vaz, after he awarded the penalty to Agasaim in the 57th minute. After Francis converted the penalty, McDavid was shown his second yellow for dissent.
Agasaim opened the scoring through Sushant Borker, who saw his stiff grounder from outside the box creep under the rival keeper’s hand on its way into the net.
On the half hour mark, St Sebastian nearly found the net but Benoy Barretto’s shot came back off the cross bar.
After the interval, St Sebastian came out strong and their persistence paid off, when Benoy Barretto found the equaliser after he finished off a move which started from a free kick taken quickly.
Eight minutes later, Agasaim re-took the lead from the penalty spot.
After St Sebastian was reduced to ten-men they continued their raids forward but in the end Agasaim held on for victory.
Agasaim moved to seven points from six matches while St Sebastian stayed on three points from four outings.
