AGASSAIM: Albert Developers shot out Shree Nagesh Maharudra Sports Club 6-5, via tie-breaker to emerge champions of the Ilhas Zone in the Goa Football Associations Third Division League match played at Agassaim ground, on Monday.
In an evenly contested match all the goals were scored in the first session of play. Shree Nagesh dominated from the beginning and seemed like a better side with Mayur Vernekar finding the breakthrough for his club in the 2nd minute itself.
Shree Nagesh who played brilliantly throughout the tournament doubled the lead in the 13th minute through Mayur’s brilliant finish as he completed his brace.
Struck by reverse, Albert Developers re-grouped and bounced back and managed to find the net in the 24th minute as Megan Silveira slotted the ball home before Abhyuday Sabharwal made it all square in the 25th minute.
Post resumption, either of the sides fought hard trying to find the match winner but had to settle for a draw as the teams cancelled out each other moves.
At the end of the normal regulation time scoreboard read 2-2.
In the resultant tie-breaker Albert Developers proved to be better shooters.
