TALEIGAO: Albert Developers continued their unbeaten run in the Goa Football Association Second Division League Ilhas Zone following their resounding 8-0 win over United Sports Club Mardol at Taleigao ground.
Viraj Naik and Gaurav Kankonkar scored a brace for the winning side.
Leading 3-0 at the break, it was the former Bardez FC and Dempo SC junior player Viraj Naik who scored twice to give Albert Developers a 2-0 lead at the half hour mark before Gaurav added the third just before the breather.
USC Mardol were no match to their opponents as Albert Developers played a fast paced game with short passes and using the width whenever required.
Three minutes into the second half, Albert Developers scored their fourth through Krishna Gawas who scored with a curling shot which crashed into the top corner of the net, 4-0.
Gaurav completed his brace in the 57th minute. In the 66th minute, it was Jolitan Fernandes with the team’s sixth goal when he was the fastest to react to push the ball into the nets when the Mardol keeper fumbled with the ball while collecting.
Another former Dempo SC junior Shankar G and Ronil Azavedo also got on to the score sheet.
Shankar scored with a fine solo run while Ronil made amends to his earlies misses when he rounded off the keeper, making the best of the pass he received from the flank.
