PONDA: Almeida Lions won the T-20 leather ball Almeida Cricket League after defeating Almeida Royals by 84 runs. The tournament was organised by Almeida High School, Ponda and held at Subash Chandra Bose ground at Shiroda.
Almeida Royals won the toss and elected to field. Almeida Lions scored 211 for 5.
Namish Shirodkar scored a century while Meet Patel (30) and Ved Prabudesai (22) were the other contributors.
In reply, Almeida Royals were bundled out for 127 runs. .Sankalp Prabu scored 71 runs.
Namish Shirodkar of Almeida Lions who scored 100 runs and picked two wickets was named man-of-the-match.
