SANVORDEM: Alvito D’Cunha will be felicitated by East Bengal on the occasion of their centenary celberation, at Calcutta, on August 13.
The former Goan star said, “it’s a great honour to be felicitated by East Bengal. It was a privilege to lead the team in 2006. When I joined East Bengal never thought I would stay for so many years and even wear the captain’s armband someday.”
“It is something that I will never forget in my life. A club with so much of history, records. I can always proudly say I chose the right decision in joining East Bengal,” said Alvito who is now part of the management team.
D’Cunha has been credited for taking many Goans to new heights by paving the way for them at various clubs across Goa.
“I thank all the supporters, Swapan Ball, Debarta Sarkar and the management members for showing faith in me. I’m also indebted to the Goan clubs, football fans, wellwishers,” concluded Alvito D’Cunha.
