PANJIM: IM Anurag Mhamal and Rohan Ahuja secured 4.5 points at the end of round seven in the ongoing 52nd National Challenger (National ‘B’) chess championship, at Himachal Pradesh, on Tuesday.
Anurag drew with Srinath Rao of Chhattisgarh and outsmarted Rakesh Kumar Nayak of Odissa while Rohan drew with IM Rahul Sangma (2333) of Railways and GM Shyam Sundar (2486) of Tamil Nadu in the sixth and seventh round respectively.
Geno Pharmaceuticals goodwill ambassador CM Nitish Belurkar (3.5 points) won against Anilkumar O.T (2154) in the sixth round and lost in the seventh round to Rajib Dhar (2171) of Assam.
Goa Carbon goodwill ambassador WGM Bhakti Kulkarni and Rajaryan Kuvelkar remain on three points. Barath M remained on 2.5 points.
