RAIA: Arlem Youth Association edged past Shiroda Youth Club 2-1 in the Goa Football Association Third Division League match, played at Raia ground, on Wednesday.
Both the sides were yet to register a win in the competition. Shiroda Youth Club dictated terms in the opening quarter and took the lead in the 14th minute through Ivan Antao.
The end-to-end battle saw Shiroda lead 1-0 at the break.
Post resumption, it was completely a different Arlem YA attacked in numbers and after toiling managed to get the breakthrough in the 70th minute through Eldon Colaco.
The striker soon scored the second, which proved to be the match-winner for Arlem YA, as they successfully managed to collect their first points.
Shiroda are yet to open their account.
Meanwhile at St John the Baptist ground, Benaulim, United Sports Club of Seraulim twice came from behind to hold United Boys Dando Colva 2-2.
The Colva side took the lead in the 14th minute through Baptisto Pinto’s solo effort.
Josmon Faleiro scored the equalising goal for Seraulim just before the breather.
Colva were once again ahead at the hour mark when Anthony’s curling effort had no answer from the rival keeper but P Fernandes made it all square in the 83rd minute.
