Hosts Arpora Sporting Club defeated Roseman Cruz Nagoa-Verna 3-1 to move into the quarter finals of Nagoa-Arpora Panchayat Cup inter-village soccer at Salt Lake ground, Arpora on Tuesday.
Dominating the proceedings, Arpora forged ahead in the 8th minute through Sudesh Naik off a Sameer Naik corner. Pramod Mardolkar doubled the lead for Arpora in the 20th minute off a corner by Sameer Naik.
Down by two goals, Roseman fought back and reduced the margin through Joel Fernandes who dribbled past a couple of defenders and shot the ball past the Arpora goalkeeper. Marcus D’Souza made the issue safe for Arpora in the dying minutes.
