Assanora Champion SC clinch title

CHORAO: Assanora Champion Sports Club defeated MR Assanora to win the All-Goa tennis ball cricket tournament organized by Assanora Cricketers, at Duddi Sadda ground, Mulgao-Assanora, recently.

In all, 15 teams participated in the tournament.
Assanora Champions SC won the toss and elected to bat and scored 126 runs in eight overs. 
In reply, MR Assanora managed only 61 runs for the loss of four wickets.
The winners were awarded Rs 15,000 and a trophy while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 10,000 and a trophy.
The individual prizes were awarded to Best bowler: Amir Gadekar (Assanora Champions SC), Best batsman: Amit Naik (MR Assanora).
Former Tourism Minister, Nilkhanth Halankar was the chief guest while special invitees were ex-Sarpanch of Chorao, Shrikrishna Haldankar, ex-Dy sarpanch Shrijaya Haldankar; Assanora panch Dnyneshwar Kalangutkar, social worker Lowrence D’Souza and Ashok Banaulikar.
Earlier, Shailesh Shirodkar welcomed and compered while Gurudas Chopdekar proposed the vote of thanks.
