ANJUNA: Assnora United beat P. V. C. Parra 6-5 via the tie-breaker in the first semi-final match of the Anjuna Gymkhana Platinum Jubilee Cup played, at Anjuna Gymkhana ground, on Saturday.
In the first half, even though Assnora had many attempts on the opponent’s goal, the goalkeeper Clifton Fernandes made sure they didn’t concede any.
Changing over, both the teams started on an attacking note, but is was Parra who broke the deadlock in the early minutes of second half when Floyd’s fine through ball met Joyston inside the penalty box, he made no mistake in converting it.
Trailing by a goal, Assnora scored the equaliser through Chetan Shirodkar, who lobbed the ball over goalkeeper into the goal.
In the tie-breaker, Waldron, Felix, Floyd, Joston and Joaquim scored for Parra whereas Shane, Sanij, Kunal, Vijet, Projyot and Chetan hit the target for Assnora United.
