TUEM: Augustias Sporting Club defeated Goan Warriors FC by a solitary goal to move into the semifinals of the FC Tuem Champions Trophy, inter-village football tournament organised by FC Tuem in association with CAM group of Companies at DSYA ground, Tuem, on Thursday.
The match was mostly confined to the midfield in the first half with both the teams making occasional counter attacks. The only chance for the Goan Warriors was in the 29th minute of play wherein Sunny Parab’s shot just went over the crossbar.

Both the teams went into the breather with no score on board. Post resumption in the 45th minute Rupesh Patil of Augustias SC missed an open chance to connect the ball crossed by Harsh Pawer.
In the 54th minute Augustias Sporting Club’s Anford Fernandes’s powerful shot from outside the penalty area entered the nets giving Augustias the lead.
Goan warriors went all out in search of a goal. In the 57th minute Warrior’s Sunil Desai’s shot went wide and once again in the 60th minute his long range shot just sailed over the crossbar.
In the dying minute Augustias’ Akash Parwar could have doubled the tally but failed to score. Augustias will now play their semifinal match on October 21.
