Salgaocar Sports Club coach Karim Bencherifa was an elated man after his team scored a narrow 1-0 win over Mumbai Football Club in Kolhapur.
Bencherifa was expectedly upbeat after the win and credited the players for the overall performance.
“The boys did very well despite the hard ground conditions,” Bencherifa told Herald from Kolhapur over the telephone.
He was particularly happy with the way his team played. We defended well and were always in control. We played better and I’m satisfied with the display of the team. They have done well. The win is a boost for the team as they will play another Mumbai team, Air India next month,” the Salgaocar coach said.
Asked whether he would have been happy had his team scored more goals, “I am happy with three points,” Bencherifa happily concluded.
