MAPUSA: Benny XI Sports Club thumped Bastora United Sports Club 3-1 in the Bardez Zone GFA’s 3rd Division League match at Moira ground, Sunday.
The goals came in the first session.
Andrew Gonsalves was at his best as he gave Benny XI the lead in the 10th minute and then registered his brace in the 28th minute.
Arun Reddy pulled a goal back for Bastora in the 35th minute but Ronny Fernandes struck before half time to make it 3-1 for Benny XI.
At Quitula ground, Aldona, Quitula Sports Club got the better of Friends XI Sports Club 3-1.
Neville Rodrigues opened the scoring for Quitula in the 15th minute while Edison Fernandes (42′) and Ramsey D’Souza (52′) increased the tally to seal the fate of Friends XI.
Sailesh Rivonkar (75′) reduced the margin for the losers.
