BETALBATIM: Betalbatim SC got the better of Carmona SC 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Martins Cup organised by Betalbatim SC, at Betalbatim ground, on Friday.
Klusner Pereira of Betalbatim sent in a through pass to Denzil Rogtao but Yuri Ferrao and Pollyson D’Sa both from the defence line of Carmona blocked the latter’s move.
In the 5th minute, Etonin Viegas of Carmona from the centre line dribbled past Seno Fernandes and Zebon Dias of Betalbatim pulled his trigger to shoot into the Betalbatim net to open the scoring for Carmona.
In the 10th minute, a tricky move from Betalbatim’s Travis Barretto who the n passed the ball Dylan Rodrigues who then equalised in the 10th minute.
As the match progressed, Betalbatim scored the match winner through Denzil Rogtao’s arrow bound shot in the 25th minute.
Carmona SC tried their best to find the equaliser but failed to create chances.
