PANJIM: Betalbatim Sporting Club and Compassion Football Club registered wins in their respective matches of the Goa Football Association U-14 League match played on Sunday.
At Velsao ground, Betalbatim eased past Verna Cultural and Sports Association 3-0, while Compassion FC recorded a 1-0 win over Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao at Taleigao ground.
The Betalbatim SC side led 1-0 at the break with Gladson netting his first in the ninth minute. Verna CSA weren’t at their best on Sunday, as they were outplayed by the opponents.
In the second half, Betalbatim SC added two more goals through Gladson in the 56th and 66th minutes as Verna CSA ran out of steam and with no players available on the bench the coach had no option of using any substitutes.
Compassion FC maintained their winning streak defeating Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao which was an evenly played match with good attack’s from both sides at the Taleigao ground.
The Compassion FC comprising of underprivileged and marginalised Boys won by a solitary goal scored by Sitroy Carvalho in the 35th minute of play through a beautiful run on the right flank from the centre line cutting past a host of defenders and then unleashed a powerful kick which beat the Taleigao goalkeeper who otherwise had an excellent display of defending to do.
