PANJIM: South District winners Bhatikar Model School Margao defeated North District winners Sharada Mandir Miramar 3-1 sets to emerge as state champs of the U-14 inter-school Table Tennis tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at SAG indoor stadium, Campal, recently.
In the final, Aadvik Panandikar of Bhatikar Model school defeated Aaron Colaco by 11-8, 11-9, 11-7. In the second singles Pratush Kenkre gave 2-0 lead to Bhatikar with 11-8, 11-7, 8-11, 13-11 and 11-6 win over Parv Rastogi of Sharda Mandir.
Upendra Talaulikar of Sharda Mandir defeated Nilesh Udupi of Bhatikar Model by 11-8, 11-5, 11-6 to reduced margin to 1-2.
In the deciding singles Aadvik Panandikar of Bhatikar beat Parv Rastogi in the straight sets of 11-4, 11-8 and 11-6.
Bhatikar Model School also excelled in the Badminton State tournament as they bagged third place in U-14 and U-17 boys category.
