MARGAO: Our Lady of Rosary High School Fatorda, Auxilium High School Benaulim, St Joseph Educational Institute Chandor, Rosary High School Navelim and St Rita’s High School, Maina recorded victories in Salcete Taluka U-14 inter-school football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Manora ground, Raia, on Friday.
Our lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda crushed Marina English High School, Verna 3-1. Maxwell Furtado put Rosary HS into the lead in the opening session while Vollen Dias neutralized late before the break.
Our Lady of Rosary were dominant in the second half when Liston Cardozo put his team in front while Sheldon Araujao put the issue beyond doubt late in the second half.
Auxilium High School, Benaulim thumped Government High School, Davorlim 2-0. Rohit Rebello and Keagan Fernandes were the goal scorers for Auxilium HS.
St Joseph Educational Institute, Chandor hammered Manovikas English Medium School, Margao 5-1. The high light of the day was a brilliant hat-trick by Richard D Sa while Shelton Dias and Kalvin Vaz were the other scorer for the winners. Josiah Mane managed to score a consolation goal for Manovikas.
Rosary High School, Navelim trashed Posh High School, Navelim 6-0. Arlindo Valles and Kavel Dias struck a brace each while Sameer Halagi and Valton Fernandes scored a goal each.
St Rita’s High School, Curtorim blanked St Pius High School, Orlim 2-1. Stewart D’mello scored a brace.
