PEDDA BENAULIM: CAC Cansaulim cruised into quarter-finals with a convincing 6-1 victory over UC Benaulim in the New Era Club Inter-Village Under 14 tournament, organised by New Era Club, Benaulim at Xemu Moll ground, Benaulim on Monday.
Rio Rodrigues opened the scoring for CAC Cansaulim in the opening minutes of the first half but Danlee D’Souza equalised for UC Benaulim in the 4th minute.
As the game progressed Cansaulim dominated the match and scored two more goals through Rio Rodrigues as score read 3-1 at the lemon break.
After change of ends, Cansaulim went all out looking for more goals as their midfielders Masaia D’Mello and Pritam Kattimani dominated the game which saw Rio scoring two more goals and Jonathan netting one.
Ethen Dsouza and Edson Rebello tried to get the momentum going for UC Benaulim but they lacked support from their team mates.
Rio Rodrigues of CAC Cansaulim was adjudged man-of-the-match for his 5 goal heroics.
