CURTORIM: CAC Cansaulim blanked Dicarpale SC 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Curtorim Panchayat Cup organised by Maina Sports Club, at Curtorim ground, on Saturday.
Both teams started the match on an attacking note. Dicarpale’s Mabel Miranda took control of the ball from Joel Colaco who dribbled past a couple of Cansaulim defenders and shot from the top of the box but the rival keeper was equal to the task in the eighth minute.
Cansaulim had the best chance with Veegan Ferrao’s solo effort hit the Dicarpale woodwork and rebounded back into play in the 16th minute.
In the second half, CAC Cansaulim changed the game plan with Veegan Ferrao and Ashley Soares given the task of playing in midfield and in the striking zone which paid off as both netted a goal each with power-packed shots in the 45th and 58th minutes respectively.
CAC Cansaulim will now meet the winners of Maina SC and Seraulim SC in the quarter-finals on February 25.
