UTORDA: Velsao Sports and Cultural Club were punished by a late comeback show by Calangute Association in the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League match played at Sports Authority of Goa ground, Utorda, on Monday.
Calangute Assn won 2-1.
Abdoul A Fall and Rohan Pednekar scored for the North Goa team while Joseph Pereira scored for the losing team.
High in confidence from their previous win, Panjim Footballers took control of the game in the opening stages maintaining possession and playing the ball across the pitch.
Sushant Borkar and Kashinath controlled the midfield for the South Goa team who had to wait until the first half added time to score the first goal through Joseph Pereira. Velsao led 1-0 at the break.
Crossing over, Calangute Association came back strongly and attacked in numbers to find the equaliser.
But Velsao’s defence stood tall to deny their attempts. Finally in the last ten minutes of the game, Velsao lost their concentration and Calangute Association scored two goals in the span of five minutes.
Abdoul A Fall equalised in the 80th minute before Rohan Pednekar broke the home team fans heart with an 85th minute match-winner.
