TALEIGAO: Nauxim Sports Club registered a 4-1 win over Young Boys of Tonca in the Goa Football Association Second Division Ilhas Zone League match played at Taleigao ground, on Monday.
Satish Kankonkar scored two goals in the span of two minutes for the winners late in the game. Satish should have added more goals, but his clumsy finishing saw him have just two goals against his name.
After an end to end football, Tonca scored the first in the 36thminute through Shubham S.
But Nauxim SC kept knocking at the rival door and finally made it all square in the 44th minute. In the first half, Nauxim’s Sagar F was booked for rough play. The teams were tied 1-1 at the break.
Changing ends, Nauxim game commanded their midfield and kept spraying passes to their strikers. They took the lead in the 66th minute through Sagar Faterpekar.
The Young Boys of Tonca defence was left exposed and Satish K scored two goals in the 85th and 87th minutes respectively. Salu Santos of YBT went into the referee’s books for harsh play.
