Mormugao had the first crack at the rival goal in the fifth minute but Rahunath Fadte saw his fierce strike bang the Calangute cross bar.
Crossing over, Mormugao once again came attacking when in the 40th minute Pretesh Mayekar’s right footer sailed just past the target.
Couple of minutes later Richard D’Costa after getting into the Calangute danger zone, tamely shot into the waiting hands of keeper Selwyn D’Souza.
While Mormugao attacked, it was Calangute who did the attacking when in the 60th minute Blake Haldankar weaved his way past the Mormugao defence and unleashed a powerful strike which crashed into the far corner of the nets 1-0.
