MARGAO: Cana Benaulim Sporting Association registered a fluent 3-1 win over Don Bosco Oratory ,Fatorda to advance into the quarter-finals of All-Goa Seafarers Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Navelim Sporting Club at Rosary ground, Navelim on Thursday.
Cana dominated the game rand took the lead in the 25th minute as striker Vincy Fernandes punted the ball into the far corner of the net.
A lot was expected from Don Bosco after change of ends but they were subdued lot and failed to function as a cohesive unit. Jaison Pereira increased the tally when he slammed the ball in the goal in the 40th minute. Stunned by the double blow, Don Bosco switched into attacking mode and scored a consolation goal in the 45th minute when Trevor unleashed a stiff shot. Unafazed, Cana drove the final nail into the rival coffin when Stalin Baptista beat the rival goalkeeper with neat finish.
