CHINCHINIM: Carmona Veterans defeated Excel Rovers Loutolim Veterans 8-7 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 1st all-Goa Veterans football tournament, organised by Sucaldem Youth Club, at SYC ground, Chinchinim, on Monday.
In the first minute, Charles Rodriguez missed chance for Carmona Veterans.
Three minutes later, Carmona’s Charles took a powerful shot but was timely saved by Loutolim goalkeeper Rubio Vaz.
Later, Carmona’s Charles Rodriguez and Loutolim’s Derrick Pinto missed chances to score in the 26th and 30th minutes respectively.
In the tie-breaker, Carmona proved to be better shooters.
Carmona will now play Davodem Veterans in the quarter-finals.
