PANJIM: Casa do Benfica, an integral part of Sport Lisboa Benfica, one of the leading clubs of Europe is all set to set up base in Goa.
A group of 12 Goan football enthusiasts met at the Consulate General of Portugal, Altinho recently, in the presence of Dr. António Sabido Costa, Consul General, to initiate the process of the formation of Casa do Benfica in Goa.
The initiative to bring Casa do Benfica to Goa is being taken under the aegis of Anil Counto, chairman, Alcon Enterprises, Panjim, with the able guidance of the Consul General.
The Casa do Benfica in Goa is proposed to be housed at “O Coqueiro”.
The establishment of the Casa do Benfica in Goa will pave way for young and talented Goan footballers benefiting by way of exchange of players, trainers and coaches with Sport Lisboa Benfica.
