Sporting Clube’s Peter Vaz to be feted

PANJIM: The Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim which represents the Cavelossim village will celebrate the Platinum Jubilee this year, according to Dionizio Dias, president of the club.
The 68th general body meeting of the club which finished sixth in GFA’s Professional League under coach Kanan Priolkar will be held on August 4 at the club premises at Cavelossim at 4 p.m. The election to the new managing committee will be held.
Peter Vaz, president of Sporting Clube de Goa will be awarded the certificate of appreciation. He helped the club to get outstanding results in the league and consequently got the club promoted to the Pro League of 2011-12. During 2012-13, Peter played a major role contributing substantial financial assistance at a time when the club was struggling with the finances, particularly with respect to the major expenditure of the professional team. He is a valued patron of the club, stated general secretary Viriato Mendes.
The club plans to complete the community hall, sustain the team in Pro League and complete the football ground so as to make the club a self sustaining institution.
