PANJIM: Hosts Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim defeated CRC Chinchinim via the tie-breaker 4-3 to move into the finals of Cavelossim Panchayat Cup football organized by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim at Cavelossim ground.
Cavelossim took the lead in the ninth minute with Alloy Pereira’s cross being converted by Pollyson D’Sa. Three minutes later, Jorex equalized off Narcico Gomes.
CRC mounted pressure but Cavelossim’s Raju, Roland, Uri and Clay stood like a rock in the defence. Benson Fernandes’ was smartly saved by Mahamud Sheik.
In the tie-breaker, Selrino, Roland, Mahamud and Pollyson scored for Cavelossim. Nicolas Rebello, Denil Rebello and Jolex netted for Chinchinim.
