CHINCHINIM: Chandor Club defeated Mormugao United Sports and Cultural Club 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 21st Our Lady of Merces football tournament organised by Sirlim Sports Club played at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Friday.
Basurajan Harijan opened the score line for Mormugao in the 18th minute while Moises D’Sa equalised for Chandor. Ten minutes later, Irfan Yadav scored the match winner for Chandor.
Chandor Club will meet the winners of Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna and SWC Zaino in the quarter-finals on August 5.
