Chapora Yuvak Sangh win shoot-out to enter final

MARGAO: Chapora Yuvak Sangh prevailed over  Benny XI , Mapusa 5- 4 via tie-breaker to march into the final of North Goa Yaari Cup inter village football tournament organised by Saligao United, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Tuesday . 
Benny XI were on the attack from the early minutes of the match when Stephen Martins’ rasping shot was well blocked by the Chapora goalkeeper Sona Korgaonkar. 
All attempts from Benny XI were thwarted by the Chapora goalkeeper and midway in the first half when Jewel Fernandes’ rasping shot was well taken care by the rival goalkeeper.
At the other hand, Chapora Yuvak Sangh took time to settle down and once they struck the rhythm they called the shots against the rival citadel.
Post-resumption, Chapora were a dominant side with their forwards showing  urgency and trouble the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. 
Chapora nearly broke the deadlock soon after restart when Alvito Fernandes rasping shot kissed the cross bar much to the dismay of Chapora supporters.
At the other hand Benny XI woke from the slumber and unleashed couple of sorties however the rival defenders stood tall in protecting their citadel.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out Chapora Yuvak Sangh proved to be the better shooters. 
Chapora Yuvak Sangh will now clash with Nerul Sports Club in the final on September 1.
