PANJIM: Chess Teens de Goa captained by Niraj and Goan Achievers led by Suhas are leading with six points each after the end of the third round in the open category of all-Goa state team selection organized by Marmugao Chess Club under the aegis of Goa Chess Association at Regina Mundi HS, Chicalim.
BCA Bambolim, Hitler’s Chess XI and PTCA Warriors have tallied four points each.
In the women’s category, Famous Five captained by Gauri are leading with six match points. Women Inspiration and Bambolim Chess Club are on three points each.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Br Anish John, principal of Regina Mundi in the presence of Kishor Bandekar, president MTCA, Arvind Mhamal, secretary GCA, Vasant Naik, secretary MTCA, Adv Devenrda Kenkre, organizing secretary and Adv Anita Thorat.
In all, 18 teams including 13 teams in the open category and five teams in the women category are participating.
