MARGAO: Chinchinim Veterans thrashed Merces Veterans 4-0 to clinch the Chandor/Guirdolim Veterans Trophy (1st all-Goa 50+ inter-village one-day veterans futsal tournament) organised by Chandor Guirdolim Veterans at Simpliz Turf on Sunday.
Chinchinim Veterans netted a hatrick through ex-international Mario Soares in the 5th,7th and 8th minute while another ex-international Mahesh Lotlikar added the fourth goal to clinch the trophy.
Yuri Alemao was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runner’s up in the presence of Edward D’Silva, sarpanch of Chandor Cavorim Panchayat, Marinho Dias, football legend, Sonia Fernandes, ex-sarpanch of Guirdolim, Susan Dias and Marina Mendes both ex-sarpanch of Chandor Cavorim Panchayat, Stephen Dias, ex-panch of Chandor Cavorim Panchayat, Alvarin Dias, football player were the special invitee.
