NEW DELHI: Defending I-League champions Churchill Brothers are in Group E of the AFC Cup 2014 edition alongside Indonesian champions Persipura Jayapura, Singapore Cup winners Home United and Maldives double winners New Radiant, a statement from the club confirmed, after the draw took place at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Tuesday.
Pune FC, who are slated to play the AFC Champions League for the first time, will also play in the AFC Cup if they fail to make the grade for the AFC Champions League (ACL) group stage.
Pune FC, finished runner-up last season were drawn in Group H alongwith Kitchee of Hong Kong, Singapore’s S-League champions Tampines Rovers and Myanmar league runners-up Nay Pyi Taw.
In case Pune FC make it to the ACL group stage, they will be replaced by 2013 AFC Cup semi-finalists East Bengal.
