MARGAO, MARCH  31
An exciting contest is on the cards  when  defending champions  Musli Power Churchill Brothers  take on Punjab outfit, JCT in an ONGC  3rd I-League match at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Thursday.
The match holds a lot of significance for both teams. Churchill Brothers are occupying the fourth spot and have 26 points from 17 matches while JCT have  22 points from 18 matches.
Churchill Brothers and  JCT are determined to adopt  a positive, attacking approach and are expected to go all out for a win to grab full points on offer.
Churchill Brothers will start with all three African recruits. Captain Odafa Okolie and Felix  Chimaokwu  will spearhead  the attack. Nigerian Ogba Kalu will marshal the midfield along with Reisangm Vashum, Nacimento Silveira or Japan import  Dan Ito and Laldringa Ralte. International  Gouramangi Moirangthem will have a big role to play at the  back. Goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya, who was brilliant in Yemen, will stand under the bar.
Churchill Brothers will be reinforced with the return of right wing back Robert L. The last named missed the match against Dempo  following two yellow cards. However, they will be missing midfielder Charan Rai  who stands suspended due to double booking.
Churchill Brother Brazilian coach Carlos Roberto Pereira Da Silva  is keen to exploit  the home condition  and play for a win. “We know the ground much better than the opposition. Keeping that in mind we have to try and outsmart JCT and play for a win.”
“The three points are very crucial as it will  help us to defend the title  and take us higher  from our current fourth position,” added the Churchill Brothers coach.
Any slip for Churchill Brothers against JCT will only lessen their chances of defending the title.
“I have confidence in my boys. After the victory in Yemen in AFC Cup, their morale is very high and I have great respect  for JCT. They have a  good side and quality balance. After their defeat to Dempo in Goa they will be motivated  to turn the tide by going all out for a win,” said Carlos. His star forward Odafa Okolie continues  to be a menace  for the opposition and on Thursday it will be no different as he is expected continue to score.
That the players were all geared up for Thursday’s match was evident  from the way they went about the drills this morning at Assolna ground. There was an air of confidence  in whatever  they tried  during the training session.
JCT are capable of turning the tables against Churchill. Captain and international Karanjit Singh  will take charge  under the bar. The Nigerian duo of Emanuel Okoro and Henry Ezeh will be hunting for goals. Jaspal Singh, Narinder Singh, Daljit Singh and Jaswinder Singh will be the ones who will have to contain Odafa. The strikers will depend on Penn Orji, Rakinderjit Singh, Gurwinder Singh and Sakatar Singh.
“We have to focus on winning three points,” said JCT coach Parminder Singh.
“We are  confident and I am looking  forward to take on Churchill, but we cannot underestimate them. Churchill are one of the best team in the country, so we have to play really well.”
