Churchill Brothers open campaign against Namdhari

VARCA: Goa’s one and only team in AIFF’s National I-League Churchill Brothers Football Club will kick-off its campaign with the mission of winning the 2023- 2024 title, and earning a spot in the Indian Super League (ISL), with an away match against Namdhari on October 31, at Namdhari Stadium in Ludhiana (Punjab), at 2 pm.

‘‘We are a balanced team with five foreigners – two from Argentina, and one each from Iran, Uruguay and Nigeria and the rest from India, including Goa. It will have an Argentinian flavour with Head Coach Edgardo Raul Malvestitti in charge of the strong squad which also has Argentinian Emilio Martin Oviedo as the Assistant Manager and Djair De Miranda Garcia from Brazil as its Physical Trainer. Mario Soares is the Assistant Coach and Danzie Ferrao as the Manager,’’ stated Vice-President of Churchill Brothers Sports Club Savio Alemao.

Valanka pointed out that Churchill Brothers have built a strong team signing three new foreigners – Emiliano Callegari Torre from Argentina, Ricardo Nicolas Dichiara from Argentina and Meysam Shah Makvand Zadeh from Iran.

A number of good local talent is also in our ranks with players like Trijoy Dias, Jobern Cardozo, Alent Colaco, Bradley Carvalho, Mevzen Oliveira, Fhezer Gomes and others waiting for the opportunity to showcase their skills.

Among the new inductees are goalkeepers Subhasish Roy Chowdhury, Bilal Hussain Khan; defenders Lalbiakhlua, Nishchal Chandan, midfielder Silvana R Lalruatkima, Lunminlen Haokip, Sebastian Thangmuansang, Faisal Ali, Rahul Raju, Stendly Teotonio Fernandes, Lesly Rebello.
