At lemon break, Cobra Vaddo led 2-0. Rajesh Diukar opened the account for Cobra Vaddo in the 15th minute with a scorching 20-yarder. Robert D’Souza doubled the lead with a beautiful curling effort, 10 minutes later.
Changing over, Agnelo Fernandes reduced the margin with an easy tap in but five minutes before the final whistle, Thomas D’Souza scored the crucial third goal with a stiff grounder that sealed his team’s victory.
In the dying minutes, Manoj Naik made it 4-1 through a solo effort.
The winners and runners-up were awarded Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Individual prizes were awarded to Best forward Rajesh Diukar (Cobra Vaddo), Best goalkeeper Nicholas Lobo (Cobra Vaddo), Best defender Narayan Karapurkar (Umta Vaddo), Best disciplined team Gaura Vaddo and Mr Fit to Sabestao Silveira (Tivai Vaddo).
Siolim Constituency MLA Dayanand Mandrekar was the chief guest while Calangute Constituency MLA Michael Lobo was the guest of honour. Abelina Menezes, ZP member of Calangute Constituency; Anthony Ambrose, president of Calangute United; Filipe Dias and Marcelino Fernandes, executive committee members of Calangute Association were among those present.
