CURTORIM: Cumborda blanked Paldem 4-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 4th Jose and Franky memorial inter-ward football, at St Alex church ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
In the 6th minute, Cumborda scored the first goal through Veron Fernandes with a placement shot off Sunny’s connect.
Ten minutes later, Myron Fernandes doubled the lead for Cumborda with a snap shot.
Minutes later, the best chance fell to Paldem’s Godwin Mascarenhas who received the ball from Macsevel Dias and dribbled past Cumborda defenders Lisbon and Stevan and shot from close range but the Cumborda keeper was equal to the task.
As the match progressed in the second half, Cumborda scored two more goals through Marcus and Florence in the 47th and 50th minute respectively to make it 4-0 for Cumborda.
