In the 5th minute, Cuncolim Union’s Bharat Gaunkar almost gave his team a dream lead but his goal bound shot was saved brilliantly by rival keeper Rayson Souza.
At the other end, Chinchinim had the best chance of the match when Alton Menezes was fed right infront of the goal, but the winger shot wide with only Cuncolim keeper Shaikh Sahil at his mercy.
Crossing ends, Cuncolim started positively wherein the rival keeper was put to test before they finally broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute of a set piece.
Chinchinim defender Roger Pereirs fouled Sampan Rebello on the edge of the box and the resultant free kick was swung in by Myron fernandes inside the box where medio Frazer Fernandes out jumped Chinchinim defender Salvador Rebello to nod in, giving no chance for Rayson.
Cuncolim could not hold on the lead for long and conceded the equalizer in the 52nd minute.
Chinchinim also capitalized from a set piece. Alton was tripped by Cuncolim defender Edney Fernandes just outside the area and medio Nixon Rebello who took the responsibility struck a low free kick, which got a slight deflection of a rival player and went through the outstretched hand of Cuncolim goalkeeper Shaikh Sahil.
In the tie-breaker, Edney Fernandes, Myron Fernandes, Boston Colaco and Mitun Carvalho converted for Cuncolim Union while Elton Menezes and Vickey Fernandes netted for Chinchinim.
